In the real world...

Obviously all of us who use this site are united by a common love of gazing at the cloud cover, cursing the weather and stroking our expensive equipment in a desperate attempt to stop it gathering dust. I was just wondering what everyone does in their day jobs and whether how many of us also havee a professional link to the hobby (astronomer, meteorologist, photographer)?

I'm a university professor, though not in astronomy.

My current day job is as a clerk in the traffic office at a large distribution company so link to astronomy there. I do plan to return to college in September though and get started on the path to studying astrophysics at university and making it my full-time career :glasses1:

Interviews are scheduled for sometime in the next couple of months and my application is in.
