Nexstar 4se V Ioptron smartstar A-N114

Hi guys, been on a rollercoaster ride trying to decide on my first scope (im green), Iv'e been considering everything from a 10" dob to a 4" Cassegrain, sanity and my Mrs have narrowed the field down to the titled 2 , there's $150 difference between the two (the nexstar is more expensive).

I live in a rural area with little LP, im interested in looking at DSOs but i understand that will be limited with these scopes, the planets obviously interest me too and i'd love to show them to the kiddies and friends.

So am i better off going for the Ioptron 114mm and spending the $150 i save on EPs ect, or would you go for the better quality of the cassegrain 100mm? any advice would be welcome.
