Webcam Capture software...wxAstroCapture

When using this software, does it matter what option you take when connceting to camera..i use Philips SPC flashed to 900.

Options are 640x480 (YUY2) or (I420)

I chose the 640x480 but unclear on the letter/numbers in brackets, can anyone offer advise/comment or does it simply not matter!!

Not sure what the differences are, but am looking at this myself (newbie here too), I'm using SharpCap and just watched a tutorial that said to select YUY2, I imagine it'd be the same in wxastrocapture.

I think YUY2 is better for RAW footage. Not totally sure myself though as I have only just begun. Might even post a picture later!

I use Vista and cant use sharpcap doesnt seem to show info, but am struggling with astro to be honest cant get anything on screen
