HEQ5 pier plate

My friend is setting up an observatory with a very nicely made aluminium dome that he's been given, I know, how luck is that:)

He needed a pier top for his mount but had to be taller than the commercial ones so the weight bar would clear to top plate corners.

This is what I made for him. Today I've made a regular size one that is 1" tall.

This all took a fair few hours as my tools are all manual, but quite enjoyed it.

Hi Stardust, your friend is a lucky chap, first to be given a dome and then to have you to make that amazing pier for him - I wish I had friends like that!

Thanks Pete, they have come up well.

Helped him mix concrete today for the base.
