g7hej Posted February 12, 2011 Share Posted February 12, 2011 hi guyslooking at the moon tonight through my celestron 127slt, using 24 eyepiece then using 2x barlow brill image of a crater with 2 dots in it, girlfriend wants to no the name of crater??. anyway i asking why is it i put 9mm eyepice on with my 2x barlow and it will focus ok but there is blur in the right hand of the view, am i overpowering it??regards graham clearish skies tonight lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ad Astra Posted February 12, 2011 Share Posted February 12, 2011 There is a nice website called LunarRepublic.com that has a free lunar atlas. You click on the area of the moon you are interested in, and a more detailed map comes up. Then just mouse over the map and names are revealed.It doesn't name everything (far from it) but it is pretty good and the price is certainly right.If you get more hard core into the moon, I'd recommend the Hadfield lunar atlas (very beginner friendly).Good luck!Dan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
