dob.... adaptions

hey guys

well iv been considering to make my dob a little more usable with finding stuff in my LP areas's

iv thought about a wixy and making a setting circle board

but i read somewher on here (and noticed it in i think either last months or months befores S@N mag about somthing like a wixy but its designed for dobs for finding objects but i cnt remember for the life of me what it was called or that months S@N

any ideas?

and are wixys any good?

I've got a setting circle and wixey and it is an excellent way of locating objects once it has been aligned north and the wixey zero'd horizontally.

You may be thinking of the Astro Fix Locater Gareth:

Personally I think a Wixey and setting circle is just as convenient and a good sight cheaper too - can be done for under £30

i had a search then of the astro fix i think it was that thanks for finding me it but reading reviews wixeys are far better

i had a look on their site but got a little confused by how many different types there are any ideas which one?

This is the one I have - it's actually just a standard engineering tool but so useful in astronomy
