CPC 800 Storage

Rather than spend ££££££££ on a jmi case, is anyone using a padded suitcase for transporting/storage? Just taken delivery of a cpc800 and don't want to clonk it!

I store mine stood up on top of a filing cabinet in the corner with a cover over it. For transporting I bungee strap it to the back seat with foam sheet padding and a seat belt across.

Or I pack it in the original box with foam inserts and put in the caravan.

Those tailored cases are too expensive - rather have a good appo for that price lol

So its not just me that thinks they are far too expensive........does 3 x abs boxes really = 1 cpc800 !!

Well - I don't box the tripod - that just goes on a blanket in the boot. You'd only want to box up the forks and tube and they are all in one piece so one box really. You may want another box for the accessories (finder, diagonal, handset, etc).

Not sure what an abs box is though
