Hi All,

I have just bought a 2nd hand skywatcher 130p with the eq2 mount, it should be delivered by the 3rd feb. got it off amazon for less than £70 delivered.

just need to learn how to collimate now as I'm fairly sure that during transit it wont be treated with the respect a scope should be.

So is it better to use a laser collimater or a manual collimater as there is only about £10-£15 difference.

So here's to waiting for the scope, then waiting for the clouds to go after the scope has arrived, which will probably be about 8 years or so if my lucks got anything to do with it.

now just need some advice on what filters to go for, any ideas?

My advice is before you fiddle with it, check it. Personally as a novice I prefer using my Cheshire, as my laser was way out and caused all sorts of issues. Look at Astro Babies Guide to collimation.
