Hiya....Im thinking of buying

Im also interested in making a roll-off roof observatory.

I was just wandering what sort of dimentions I would need in the observatory (as I dont want it too large), to be able to accomodate the telescope without taking out a wall every time it slews past. Anyone got any experience with this sort of scope and the size of it when it moves?

I have an 8.5" f6 Newt, so slightly longer than yours, in an 8' x8' roll-off obs. This is about as small as I would want to go (I had limited space, so didn't have much choice), although it would probably physically fit in 7' x 7' (you just wouldn't be able to walk round it).
