Libintia, there is a paperback : "observing the deep sky" by Darren bushnall, some 173 pages, which in its early chapters covers all of the basics before looking at what you can see with modest equipment in the deep sky and sketched at the eye piece. This will set you back an enormous amount of money 10p, but with postage £2.75 from Amazon, should give you an idea of what we are all up to.
