Bushnell PowerView 8x42 binoculars

I am a complete novice, I live in London and am about to purchase Bushnell PowerView 8x42 binoculars. Will these be ok to start with?

I have the Bushnell Legend 8x42, they're a very nice handy pair of binoculars, you'll see plenty through them given the right conditions. I don't know what the skies are like for astronomy over London, might need more light-gathering power.

I had a pair of Zeiss (Jenoptem I think) 8 X 40's which I now regret selling. I think quality 8 X 40's are excellent for astronomy even though larger objectives show fainter objects. They have nice wide fields enabling one to find things more easily than bigger more powerful binos. Not too heavy - just right for general cruising around the universe.
