Doubles in Triangulum

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I managed to get out last night, the sky was lovely and clear, but it was quite windy, and the images were all over the place.I decided to track down 1 or 2 Doubles in Triangulum,a small constellation befitting its name, high over head at this time of year, noted mainly for its Galaxy M33.

The stars i picked are no show stoppers, but nice sights in a medium size scope.

The stars were:

Strauve 239, Sep 13.8 Stars looked yellowish, but difficult to really tell in the wind.

Strauve 183,Sep 5.6 Primary looked yellow,Secondary,a hint of red.

Strauve 219,Sep 11.6 Primary looked yellow,Secondary a hint of blue.

Strauve 232,Sep 6.6 Lovely pair of equal Mag 8.0 stars, both white in appearence.

I am always wary of indicating colours,as they can be subjective, and if you,ve ever looked at the old famous book of Webbs Double Stars, you will know what i mean.

Happy hunting.

Regards.

Mick.
