Iris nebula, and about to give up my camera?

I think my good old Canon 10D is about to get replaced. I have been able to do long imaging session after I got my 12v power adapter- This is 8 hours of the Iris nebula taken a couple of nights back.

I am struggeling with heaps and heaps of noise in the red channel. Even after 8 hours ...

This is 32x 15 minutes (about 8 hours) of subs. I expected more from the stack, but This is what I got. I want the brown stuff to pop about of the dark! :-)

I have threee options;

1) Try narrowband with my canon 10D. I can guide 20 minute subs without a problem with my HEQ5 Pro and 500mm Megrez 90.

2) Mod my canon 400D and buy a new camera for "regular" phorography.

3) Take the CCD leap.

What to do, what to do... :)
