First Chance at using new tracking motors

Recommended Posts

I finally made a decision and ordered the dual axis motor kit for the EQ5. I got them about 2 weeks ago and have'nt had a chance to try them out since.Until last night, I also got a polar scope which was fitted and aligned.

I set up last night and attached my DSLR to my scope and started tacking 30 sec exposures at a couple of objects!

My scope is an achromat so is the halo around stars due to that?

Any comments would be gratefully received.

It was just a quick session and i could've set up more carefully but i didn't have much time.

All in all im impressed, especially compared to my nexstar mount!
