EQ6 SYNSCAN CABLE

I must say that so far I have been very pleased with the performance of NEQ6 Mount but one item on it that is starting to irritate is the handset cable which has a DB9 connector at one end and a RJ-45 connector at the other. First off I'm not a great fan of any coiled cable as I feel it puts pressure on the end connections. Secondly, since attaching an extension to the mount to raise it up off the tripod by some 8", I can't even put the hand controller back in its holster as the cable is now too short.

So my question is has anyone found or know of a replacement cable that isn't coiled, or at least if it is, one that is a bit longer than the existing one which when relaxed is roughly about 22" long. I have already attached some velcro to the mount as an alternative home for the handset whilst I'm using it but as I'm also an owner of a long refractor, having a little bit more cable would be nice. Any ideas?
