SKYWATCHER 200P & SKYWATCHER SUPATRAK MOUNT?

Hi guys, looking to change my SW130p for a SW200p after xmas, will the SW supertrak mount take this scope? or is to heavy? if i strengthen it etc would that be ok?....if i need to of course

No mate!!

You have to buy another mount, I've heard of people fitting 150P on them, But found that it is too heavy for the GOTO mount and it seriously affects the balancing and tracking and will damage the GOTO mount gears as well.

Seriously mate don't do it, and do yourself a favour buy the 200P with a decent mount usually with telescope. Get the Skywatcher EQ5 (cheaper variant) or the HEQ5 (more expensive but alot stronger and studier mount with better gearing for more accurate tracking is my best option??)

But please try to tune it up by going the cheaper option to buy just a 200p tube. It's like trying to tune up a natural aspirated car with a turbo, but the internals of the standard engine will not take it, unless you uprate the pistons and cylinders which if you don't it will end up in pieces. So if you want to turbo car then buy a complete car with a turbo already fitted as standard. This same applies to telescopes as well, so buy the complete Skywatcher 200p with at least EQ5 mount or better, which in the end will save you money in the long run mate!!!!!

Thanks Marty sound advice, thats all i needed to know....anyone got a EQ5 going cheap? lol
