Moon filter

I would take a look first - you may need a filter if the image is too bright. Beware though, the Moon's brightness varies with the phase and will also dim considerably if you raise the magnification.

If you are going to take pics then all you need to do at the start is reduce the exposure time.

Find out what suits you and then maybe go for a filter. BTW you only need a 2" filter if you are using 2" eyepieces. You can get 1.25" filters much cheaper if you only want them for visual work.
