First webcam image of the moon

This was taken from a short bit of video I shot last night using a webcam. I'm rather pleased with it as it captures Copernius, the Appenines and the Ptolemaeus/Alphonsus/Arzachel trio quite well.

The webcam is really the innards of a Logitech QuickCam E1000 in a suitable plastic box with a nosepiece cut from an "image erector" that was part of the scope accessories. The scope itself is a 60mm refractor with focal length 700mm and is over 30 years old. Just goes to show what can be achieved with low budget equipment.

Doesn't stop me saving for a WO Megrez 72 though!:o
