Antares UPL Eyepieces

I see that Rother Valler Optics has a stock of these available now:

I seem to recall that the UPL design is more or less a clone of the excellent Celestron Ultima and Orion Ultrascopic ranges both of which are out of production as far as I know now.

The ones of this type that I've tried performed very well - they certainly compared well with Tele Vue plossls for example.

Interesting to see them back on the market although, at £70 a throw, there are a number of other options that should be considered as well these days.

These are also the same as Baader Eudiascopic eyepieces.

I've always been a fan of the Ultima/Ultrascopics - indeed, I've had some of my best planetary views through them.

That said, for £70 there's a lot more out there these days.
