Well, I'm normally up at half six. Left the scope outside and set the alarm last night for 3.15 in an effort to get a first look this year at Jupiter. By the time I'd stumbled outside it was closer to 4. No sign of jupiter. Just a very bleary-eyed me stumbling around the decking wondering if I'm entirely sane...

being a bit of an insomniac I did'nt even bother to go to bed.....not with viewing jupiter in mind, just could not sleep.when I did decide to get some shut eye...i spotted him, high enough in the sky....just him and the moon.Igot the scope out....despite the patchy cloud and did areally rough set up.....I just wanted a peek...managed to get about a minuits worth before cloud cover set in....not the best viewing but for me as this was my 1st ever view.....wow!.....did I see THREE moons as well.....damn those clouds!
