Overnight rain led to a dull drizzly morning but the cloud broke for a while in the afternoon.

In white light, the disk is blank apart from the single isolated medium sized well formed spot which constitutes AR 11084:

1546 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt solar wedge, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

The active region has an interesting spiral structure in Ha and is also followed by a short squiggly filament which probably has nothing to do with the AR:

1359 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

But in CaK there is little of interest apart from the spot itself.

In Ha, the Sun seems to be fairly active with numerous filaments, including a huge dense one draped across the northern hemisphere close to the meridian:

The overview shows the scale of this feature:

1350 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

There is also a bunch of filaments near the south west limb:

1404 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

and another small patch near the north east limb, which surprisingly do not extend beyond the limb:

There are numerous prominences but none are outstanding.

Transparency very good but with increasing interruptions from drifting low/mid level cloud. Seeing poor to moderate with considerable boiling. Temperature 23C, wind SSW force 4 occasionally 5.
