Skywatcher AZ Goto handset problem

Hi all,

I have a Skywatcher Az Goto mount that will not align because the directional arrow keys are not working during setup. This is out of warranty and the keys DO respond in the other menus? Does anyone have any ideas or have they had a similar problem. Any advice would be apreciated as I have not been able to find a troubleshooter of any kind by checking the internet.

If you bypass the alignment routine you can check to see if the direction keys are functioning by slewing the mount using the handset. Have you tried increasing the slew rate on the handset by pressing key number 2 on the keypad and then any of the numbers from 0 to 9, zero is the slowest and 9 the fastest rate.

Peters right ! Check your slew rate as it may be set too slow for any noticeable movement. It might be worth placing your ear against the mount to listen to the motors working.

It does seem that the slew speed keeps resetting to '2'.

As soon as I set it to '9' the problem is solved.
