Caldwell Objects

Hi folks!

Which of the Caldwell Objects would be most worth hunting down with a 5 inch scope at this time of year (like a top 5 or 10), or are most of them visible only in larger scopes? It seems from reading that there are quite a few nebulae - would any of them be as good to observe as say the Dumbell, the Ring or even Orion!?

Hi, If you are up late, or wait till Autumn, then my favourite Caldwell is C13,

(NGC 457) in Cassiopeia. It has lots of nicknames, Owl cluster, E.T. Cluster,

etc. It's a favourite at my club's outreach events, a science & fun object.

Should be nice thru your 5". Regards, Ed.
