A sunny morning but increasing cloud in the afternoon.

The Sun is quieter than yesterday. AR 11081 has rotated out of view; the CaK overview shows significant plage only in the NE quadrant.

0855 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

A close up view of this unnumbered active area shows that it contains interesting activity in Ha, and also faculae and a small spot visible in white light (though the spot was hard to see at the eyepiece)

0905 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

Ha overview shows little other activity on the disc and much less in the way of prominences than yesterday:

Yesterday's large beautiful prominence on the SE limb has shrunk to a shadow of its former self:

But the other prominences were still interesting.

Transparency good with a very thin cirrostratus sheet. Seeing variable, mostly moderate but poor at times. Temperature 21C, wind N force 2-3.
