Solar Activity 10 Jun

An interesting day with (for once) a good transparent sky. Unfortunately I was not able to make full use of it due to having to seek emergency dental treatment.

Highlights are the three active areas - all in the south west sector - and the huge "suspended" prominence on the north west limb, which I have documented in seperate threads.

Sun-100610-0829-CaK.jpg

0829 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

Sun-100610-0835-Ha.jpg

0835 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

Elsewehere, the filaments in the north west sector seem to be smaller in extent than previously:

0840 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

There is a row of interesting prominences stretching round the eastern and north eastern limbs:

0842 - 0850 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21 (6 frame mosaic).

I imaged the north eastern prominences again in the afternoon:

1518 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

Transparency very good. Seeing (am) moderate, (pm) poor with significant boiling. Temp 17C, wind NE force 2-3.
