The sky unexpectedly (but only partially) cleared during the afternoon. Seeing was wobbly but it sure beats a greyout!

Overview shows a pair of new active areas in the south west (now numbered 11078 & 11079)

1437 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

1437 UT. Solarscope 60, Powermate x2.5, DMK21

1738 UT. Lunt 60mm, B1200 CaK diagonal, x2.5 Powermate, DMK21

AR 1078 is a fully developed spot group:

1806 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt solar wedge, x2.5 Powermate, DMK21

whilst AR 1079 is just a pair of small penumbra-less spots:

Interesting filaments persist in the northern sector. A couple of minor plages too.

There are interesting prominences stretching from east to north north east:

but the most interesting by far is on the north west limb - is this a part of the filament train now rotating off the disc? is it "lifting off"?

Transparency moderate with some cirrostratus and intermittent altocumulus. Seeing poor with moderate boiling and some "jet stream" smearing. Temperature 15C, wind E force 5.
