my first scope

:icon_confused:hi again all well i am about to take the plunge for my first scope am a total newb, but have been doing a little research i have about a hundred pounds to spend so the scope i have been looking at is a second hand skywatcher 130 explorer with ra motor drive. i am basicly hopeing to see the planets and maybe take some photos (nothing fancy) , your thoughts would be greatly appreciated:)

Hi,

Ask the owner about collimation. If that scope is well collimated then you don't have to muck around with that. If it is being shipped you will need to check the collimation.

I think you will find the tracking drive very useful, as it will keep your target in the centre of your FoV.
