Bad conditions here today with thick cirrostratus / thin altostratus through which the sun was visible (and casting shadows) as though through ground glass. The high cloud thinned during the evening allowing some observations to be made.

CaK overview shows AR 11076 continuing to develop, the dominant trailing spot is now quite large.

1740 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41. (Exposure was 1/13 sec; 1/45 or 1/54 sec is normal!)

Ha overview shows a bright plage to the north east of decayed AR 11073; the band of filaments in the north continues to be an interesting feature.

1806 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41.

The prominences look interesting but I was unable to image them properly because of the high cloud.

Here's a closeup view of AR 11073 and the nearby plage:

1808 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

In white light, a couple of spotlets could be seen in the new area of activity:

1755 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt solar wedge, x2 barlow, DMK21

Finally, closeups of AR 11076 in Ha and white light:

1810 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow, DMK21

1753 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt solar wedge, x2 barow, DMK21

Transparency poor & variable - cirrostratus cover with embedded contrails. Seeing moderate. Temperature 21C, wind S force 3-4.
