I got me an Atik 383L+

The day I got it we had clear night skies so it has had its first run, I will write up something up later, but like Cat - HOLY COW what a difference compared to a DSLR.

Here is first pic 20 x 2 mins 2x2 bin on my 200 mm F/4 GSO Newt

Baader MPCC plus Astronomk IR and SW LP filters, no flats or darks used.

Stacked with DSS, only processing - cropped about 50% and a histogram stretch.

Cat, it is a great feeling, although there are loads of things to suss out like how to change the gain to get longer exposures. etc etc

Peter, spend it while you can, it could be a second recession is arriving anytime and we ain't seen nothing yet on fiscal tightening and extra taxes ... esp VAT - my bet is 20% or more over time so I am buying the expensive goodies as soon as I have the dosh.

So I have just been those extra bits of kit to get the most out of what I have got already...

They can drain the Bank Balance a bit, especially if you forget to stop .
