MX5C or Toucam?

Hi

I need some advice on CCD/webcams. If I was to choose between a Starlight Express MX5C (older parallell port version) and a Phillips Toucam (USB), which one should I choose? The MX5C cost a few £ more than the Toucam.

You can use the Starlight MX5C also for DSO work.

TouCam is a webcam more suited for lunal / planetary work.

If you want something that works straight out of the box then go for the Starlight. To get images of DSO'S with a Toucam, it needs to be modified for long exposure which isn't that difficult and with upgrading the firmware to SPC900 can be a very good imaging cam.
