Solar Activity 16 May

A very frustrating day with gradually thinning high cloud but much drifting low / mid level cloud which always seemed to be clearing but rarely did! A five hour observation period yielded just four short AVIs.

Overall disk activity remains low

1135 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

1142 UT (disk), 1306 UT (proms). Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

Note the activity on the north east limb, which I did manage to get a "one shot" close up of.

1318 UT. Solarscope 60, 2x barlow, DMK21.

Transparency poor with cirrostratus cover thinning to haze and extensive drifting mid/low level cloud. Seeing moderate. Temperature 15C, wind NW force 3-4.
