Still playing catchup (and losing ...)

Sunday May 9th was mostly cloudy with a couple of sunny intervals in the afternoon. White light disk blank. CaK activity remains low:

1420 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

The most active looking region on the disk is AR 11068, still in the south east but now approaching the meridian:

1516 UT. Lunt 60mm, B1200 CaK diagonal, 2x barlow, DMK21

AR 11069 is now over the limb and AR 11067 in the north west continues to decline:

I missed a trick here, I didn't realise the eruptive activity on the limb which is the last remnant of AR 11069 would be so bright so I didn't compose to include it properly!

Here's a closeup of the eruptive prominence:

There were also significant prominences on the WSW and SSW limbs

Sun-100509-1439-Ha-promSSW-X2.jpg

but the highlight was the complex quiescent prominence on the north limb

Transparency good but with cirrocumulus at times & much drifting altocumulus. Seeing variable, sometimes reasonable but with severe high frequency boiling especially near cloud edges. Temperature 14C, wind NE force 2-3.
