CG-5 Drives, how to get them working?

the batter pack is plugged in with fresh batteries, same chattering sound but no movement even on 8x

Sometimes if i dont plug the power in correctly, the motors go fom chattering to a pulsing and the green led stars to pulse with them also.

So im wondering is this a power regulation in the handset issue?

This post is interesting I get the solid green light also, so im pondering if it has been fried at some point?
