Thanks Malcolm,

Looks like my camera is still ok then and it's just the way the E-500 drives the sensor is quite noisy. Switching down to ISO 800 and shortening the exposure I get similar (when uncooled):

Last lot of test images (realised the power supply couldn't provide the necessary current the TEC was drawing and dropping the voltage). A beefier power supply got me down to -20 :-)

-20C, ISO1600, 60s:

And some 480s exposures at -20C...

ISO1600: (You can really see the amp glow creeping in here - it covers about a quarter of the frame!)
