sky atlas 2000 instrutions

Recommended Posts

I've lost my overlays sometime in the past, but from memory there's two (?) "shapes" of the grids - a long narrow triangular one and a square one.

These are only used to measure and calculate the RA and Dec of an object.

Place the grids on the map and match up the width of the grid to the area of interest.. looking through the overlay see where the object is sitting and "interpolate" a position based on the grid scale.

If you have a know star position you can you this information to check the accuracy of your measures as you practise,

Hope this helps,

Ken
