Checking the health of a power pack.

Hello all.

Is there a way to check the health of a power pack. I have a halfords powerpack 100 20ah. I`ve had it a few years now. It did get stored flat for a good while as i had lost the charger. After ordering a new one i charged it up and it appeares to fully charge. The charge light comes on and stays green when fully charged.

Any idea what sort of times i should be getting? All i`m using it to power at the moment is the EQ5 synscan. I get about 4-5 hours before the battery light gets near the red. Does that sound about right.

I'd say you were lucky it charged back up again. I stored a power pack flat for about 3 to 4 months and it's flat as a pancake and won't charge back up. 4-5 hrs might not be it's best - but it looks like you got away with it.

Gonna try a deep cycle charger on mine - see if I can kick it back into life
