Finderscope field of view?

Recommended Posts

Ok, really stupid question time. How do I find out what the field of view of my finderscope is? It's a Skywatcher 9x50 Right-Angled, Erecting Finderscope. I want to know so I can configure CdC to display it accurately on some charts.

I'm sure the answer is obvious but I can't seem to find it...

I asked the same stupid question a while back and it looks like it's somewhere between 5 and 5.5 degrees:

You could measure it directly by timing the transit of a star across the full field of view:

If you try it then let us know how you get on!
