Any Martian experts out there?

An expert Martian would do I suppose....

Was imaging Mars around midnight & noticed something strange - the blue filtered image had considerable surface detail, in fact it was very similar to the green channel. I've heard about "blue clearances" & I guess this is one!

Can someone please confirm?

BTW the exposure for the blue channel was very different & since I haven't had the filter wheel apart in months, and the wheel is roating correctly, I'm pretty sure that the blue filter was in fact loaded!

i dont know about blue clearances but the exposure time for the B i assume was longer?....that could be the QE of the camera. Most have significant lower QE in the blue than green

Indeed. I'm well aware of this effect, that's how I'm sure I didn't take the "blue" channel through the green filter.
