lighty89
Well, been outside for about half an hour, had a look, saw the moon quite good, nice and bright, suprising clear as well. As for mars, when I finally found it, didnt really get much of a look on it, saw it a bit, but was really blurry!

lighty89
Thank you!More advice, this forum has been great so far! Also, whats the best way for "finding" where you want to look.I got a red dot finder at the moment and it really doesnt seem very accurate at all!Is a finder scope any better? The Sailor
Clear night here, not sure, could be Saturn in my view but there is a couple of inches of snow and it is brass monkey weather now. No, another night, would have to get the gear out of the workshop and setup, already done it once tonight and got snowballed!!!Jim
Doc
Your red dot finder is a good tool just needs to be aligned correctly. In the daylight you need to find an object as far away as possible, maybe a chimney, ariel or whatever. Get this object in the middle of your eyepiece and then place your red dot over where your eypiece is centered.Try it again at nightime and adjust a little if necessary.
