Getting started with what I currently have

Recommended Posts

I am trying to move on a bit in astrophotography. I've already been going out with the tripod and my Olympus e520, taking long exposures of the night sky. I've had a lot of fun, and gotten some halfway decent shots.

I have also been playing with my starter telescope that I got about 6 months ago, an Orion Starblast 4.5. I can see quite a bit with it, even from my driveway, and I really would like to try and take some shots with my dslr through my telescope.

I am not certain exactly where to start, though. I have an old T-ring that will work on my camera, and I can easily get the Orion adaptor to hook it up....is this all I need? At this point, prime or EPP will be fine....I just want to play around with it and see what I can do.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated, I really am clueless in this.
