Cable Corrosion

I was using my new Ha filter on my Canon 1000D aimed at M1.

All is well then up came the meridian flip so went to recalibrate PHD - no way would it work no DEC movement so pushed the ST4 cable home, that normally fixes it ...oh no not this time. After a while I took the cable out and to my horror I could see that green copper corrosion on the terminal fingers :), cleaned it up but still wouldn't work.

Fog appeared so packed up, a bit relieved to be truthful, otherwise another wasted session.

I see this morning my QHY5 has corrosion on its terminals. So I will take it to work tomorrow to get it cleaned up in our electronics lab and I will be getting a couple of quality cables from astonomiser who make darn fine quality cables BTW.

So a warning then folks these things can corrode and cause problems.
