M51, NGC1272, NGC3628 and a horses head mafia style

Ah last night was the most fun you can have on your own in the dark......probably...can´t think of anything else at the moment.

A crisp clear night and much more rewarding than the last two times when I wrapped the cables around the mount, the filter wheel broke and the DSI decided that it wouldn´t connect.

So I saw some Geminids and took a brief tour of the universe and found NGC1272 quite interesting, a lot of galaxies in a small area (they are boring ones though )

Looks like it may be clear tonight so I suspect another tour maybe the order of the day

Perhaps the horsehead might have been better processed.

also, perhaps in future label what they are? Might help some beginners :-)

Fair point...I will do that and add more info, the horses head wasn't very many subs on this one so I probably over did it a bit.

In my defence it was submitted the morning after a long night of imaging!

Nice shots Neil. I found 'horse' is quite elusive (but still trying).

What kit did you use ?

That was the ED80 with the ATIK 16 ic-s and I think it is about 10 subs of 300 secs on the luminance.

I hope to have another go at this soon, its not too bad to photograph just need a fair few subs. My problem is everytime I have got to the Blue filter something has gone wrong so I am missing the data for a colour photo.
