Saturn and Mars!

Greetings all.

I had the use of Patrick Moore's 15" reflector on Thursday night after we had finished filming for the Sky at Night. I was able to observe both Mars and Saturn and I made the following drawings:

Mars: The bright NPC is very prominent and a bluish colour towards the fol. side. Elysium is just comming into view while the Mare Cimmerium is visible in the souhtern hemisphere.

Saturn: Rings have opened a little now and the northern hemisphere is favoured. Shadows quite noticable this far from opposition.
