Creating a planetary RGB image

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any tips on this please ?

I've read Martin B's primer, but still a little stuck.

I've PS CS3 and DSS and Reg v5 etc.. but having never done RGB before I'm not sure how one would go about merging the individual stacked images and allocating them to a particular colour, after that I think I'll be okay :):icon_eek:

Also one other quick Q, once the RGB data is merged is it then advisable to overlay another stacked image taken with just the IR/Uv filter to add luminance to the image ?

Ta.

If you have three colour channel master frames and if they are aligned you simply open them in PS, go to the Channels palette and select (from the top rh arrow) Channel Merge. Follow the on-screen dialogue for RGB.

Play with the colour before trying Lum. If the image looks sharper add it by layer blending, Luminosity or Colour depending which layer is on top, and play with it again.
