OK so I've just had a glorious relaxing weekend in North Cumbria. The forecast was appalling and the weather on Friday/Saturday morning was awful. BUT - After our evening pub meal we got back to where we were staying to a beautiful crystal clear sky. Orion was right outside our chalet door and I've never seen so may stars - trouble is my damn scope was 140 miles away in Chester!!!!!!. I did have my camera and tripod with telephoto lense and took some widefield shots but exposure times severely restricted by star trailing.

The lesson is - Don't believe the forecast - go prepared just in case!!!
