EQ3-2 dual axis motor drive, external power source

I just picked up the motor from the local post office here at work (will be some hours before I can mount it, though), and I see that on the controller, you can connect a 6V DC external adapter.

Does anyone know if the tip is positive or negative?

I have the dual EQ5 motor and the hand contoller polarity is tip (or centre pin) is positive. The RA motor and contoller draw 0.25A so a 0.5mA supply should be ok as a minimum. Mine came fom maplin and will supply 1.2A.

Thanks John, I believe that would apply for the EQ3-2 motor drive as well. Does yours also say 6V DC?

I have an EQ-3 that my gradson uses when he visits, I have a Maplin 6v DC 1.2a power supply.
