I've just started sketching, it brings so much more to each observing session. I really like the idea of sketching an event too. I think I might try sketching the various stages of an event like this onto the corner of individual sheets of paper, then flick through them to create a 'moving' image. Ah, brings back those primary school days!

Excellent! With the time next to each sketch it really puts it in to perspective. Can you imagine being on Io's surface? Watching the looming presence of Jupiter actually zipping past the horizon ( I presume that's what it's like! )
