Dovetail Bars

I have dovetail bars that either side of the main fixing holes have 2 little allen-key bolts, what is their purpose?

I nip them up so everything is secure but is there more to them?

Bizarrely, this was answered a couple of days ago. Apparently, it's to enable you to get an exact alignment of the scope rings - you can move them in and out by tensioning the ring against them.
