Telescope cover

Hi all,

I should be going to Kielder again this year and want to take a good cover for my scope so I can leave it set up. I have a Skywatcher 150mm on an EQ3-2. The last 2 years I have thrown a plastic bbq cover over it when it rained , but it makes too much noise in the wind to leave out all night with the plastic sheet on.

If you use Bungy Hooks around the cover / scope it will dramatically reduce the flapping noise.

Thanks for the very quick reply Kai. I have tried using bungy hooks and it did stifle the flapping but it was still a bit noisey.

I think you will find that any sort of cover is going to flap to a degree , its just one of those things to put up with

Still on the brighter side it will be clear all night so as you will be up anyway there will be no reason to use a cover
