Telstar 500x114 and Nikon d60

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have been browsing this site for a while, and have now registered so i can get involved and post. (and ask a couple of questions...:) )

I recently brought a telescope, I am a beginner, although I am also an avid photographer.

I have a Nikon D60 with various lenses

The telescope I got my hands on isn't amazing, its the Telstar 500x114

Please correct me if i am wrong, but do i have 2 options

1. Take the photo with the cameras lens attached

2 Take the photo without the cameras lens?

from what i understand i need a T-mount?

My second question is, How do i support my D60 from the telescope? If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

Odd name indeed...

Yes, you will need a T adapter and a T to 1.25" adapter also - that scope has a 1.25" focuser. I have been playing with a similar toy here

The reflector is the same scope as yours though the camera is a Canon. Here's the bits you will need in action (though the EOS >T adapter will need to be a Nikon > T adapter in your case):

A MaxDSLR adapter is availble which is the above two together in one unit but it is for 2" focusers only.
